Complete Environmental Service (CES) exist from 2002. CES is headed by Retha Weir who has twenty two years’ experience as an environmentalist; she started as an environmental education officer then became an environmental officer in the wetland section of the National Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism. In 1999 she moved to the EIA section where she evaluated Scoping and EIA reports before moving into private practice.
Complete Environmental Services has a very good track record and vast experience in conducting environmental impact assessments, drawing up environmental management plans and managing specialist teams for EIA and WULAs for large and small industries, mines, housing and lodge developments.
Complete Environmental Services works with a team of associates including large environmental consulting firms such as Galago, ENVASS and Eco Elementum, drawing on these expertise when not available in house.
Retha Weir studied BSc at the University of Port Elizabeth and after working at the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism for a six year, in this time she completed her Honours in Environmental Studies at the University of Witwatersrand.
Retha has a wide field of interest and kept on learning. She completed courses in Public Relations, Water quality management, Economics for Environmental Managers and Environmental auditing, and attended many workshops on topics such as National Biodiversity Offset, Mining Law, Water Law in South Africa and Wetland Biodiversity Conservation. In 2019 SHE completed the ISO 45001 and 14001 Internal Auditors course at NOSA and is currently involved in implementing ISO standards for Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) for clients as well as conducting internal audits in these fields.
Her love for education and a few years of teaching Maths and Science at a local high school also drove her to start developing SHE training courses for clients.
